How to Assign Record Types for Shopify Records in Salesforce Using HIC Sync Made Easy

This guide explains how to assign record types to Shopify records synced into Salesforce using HIC Sync Made Easy. Follow the steps below after completing the store connection and configuration.

Step 1: Open HIC Sync Made Easy

Click on the App Launcher in Salesforce and Search for 'HIC Sync Made Easy'. Click on the app to open it.

Step 2: Configure Record Types

Proceed through the configuration steps until you reach the Record Type step.

In the Record Type configuration screen, you will see a list of Salesforce objects such as Account, Contact, Product, Order, Opportunity and Draft Order.

For each object:

  • If the object has only one record type, it will be selected automatically.
  • If no active record type exists, “No Active Record Type Found” will be displayed.
  • If the object has more than one record type, click the dropdown (if you want to change the selected record type) and select the required record type (for example, Student or Teacher for Account).

Step 3: Save the Configuration

After selecting record types for the objects, click Save & Go to the Next Step. The selected record types will be applied to newly synced Shopify records.

Step 4: Verify the Record Type

Create a customer in the Shopify store. Then, open synced Shopify records in Salesforce . Go to the Details tab and verify that the Record Type field displays the selected value.

Important Notes

  • Record types must be active in Salesforce to appear in the dropdown.
  • The selected record type will be applied to all newly synced Shopify records.
  • Existing records will follow the updated configuration after sync.
