In this guide, we will walk you through how Salesforce Opportunity stages are protected from being overridden by Shopify. This feature ensures that updates from Shopify do not change the Opportunity stage in Salesforce, helping maintain accurate and controlled sales data.
Stay with us as we explore the step-by-step process to enable and use this feature easily.
Step 1: Log in to Salesforce & in App Launcher search "HIC Sync made easy". Click on it.

Step 2: Go to "SME Pro Features".

Step 3: Enable the “Prevent Opportunity Stage Override from Shopify” feature toggle button.

Step 4: Create a draft order in Shopify by selecting the product and then clicking on Save.

Step 5: Copy the Shopify ID from the above URL, search it in Salesforce, and then open its draft Opportunity.

Step 6: When an order is created in Shopify, the related Opportunity stage remains set to “Prospecting.” At this point, we need to update the stage name and click “Mark Stage as Complete” to apply the change.

Step 7: Now, we will mark the respective draft order as a paid order from Shopify.

Step 8: When the order is updated in Shopify, the related Opportunity’s stage does not change, but the updates we made in the Shopify order are reflected in the Opportunity as well.
Here, you can see Opportunity’s stage has not changed.
