How to Automate Shopify Order Total Sync in Salesforce?
This guide explains how the Shopify Order Total Sync feature ensures that order totals in Shopify match exactly in Salesforce. When an order is created in Shopify, Salesforce automatically updates the total, including tax, shipping, and discounts, ensuring financial accuracy.
Let me walk you through the step-by-step process to enable and use this feature seamlessly. Let’s dive in!
Step 1:Log in to Salesforce and navigate to “SME Settings“.
Step 2:Open your “SME Features” tab.
Step 3:Enable the “Shopify Order Total Sync” feature.
Step 4:Open your Shopify store and create a new order by selecting the products and the customer.
Step 5:Tax will be automatically added. You can also include shipping details and discounts if desired (optional). Once done, click “Collect Payment” and select “Mark as Paid”.
Step 6:Confirm the order by clicking on “Create Order”.
Step 7:Copy the Order ID from the Shopify store URL.
Step 8:Go to Salesforce, search for the copied Order ID, and open the order by clicking on it.
Step 9:Confirm that the order total in Salesforce matches the order total in Shopify. Instead of creating separate related records, the Order Total Sync feature consolidates all information under Order Products.
Step 10:Click “View All” to thoroughly check and verify all amounts, ensuring they match the details in Shopify.
Step 11:To test the refund functionality, create a refund for the same order in Shopify.
Step 12:Select the quantity to be refunded, enter the reason for the refund, and input the refund amount (e.g., a partial refund). Click “Refund”.
Step 13:After processing the refund, a refund record will be created for the order. Monitor the Total Amount to ensure it is updated accurately.
Step 14:In Salesforce, the refund will appear under Order Products, and the total amount will be adjusted to match the updated amount in Shopify.
So, this is the overall functionality of the Shopify Order Total Sync feature. With this feature, the amounts in Salesforce will match exactly as they appear in Shopify, ensuring consistency and eliminating discrepancies. Thank you!
